Skiing in the Hills of Belarus

Belarus, a landlocked country in Eastern Europe, has a terrain with flatlands and hills that are used for skiing, snowboarding, and other winter sports like cross-country skiing and biathlon.

It shares borders with Russia to the east and northeast, Ukraine to the south, Poland to the west, and Lithuania and Latvia to the northwest. The country has six ski areas which we will show you below:

One of the most popular skiing destinations is the Silichi Ski Resort, located just 32 km away from Minsk, the capital of the country. The resort offers alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, tubing, ice skating, sledding slopes, and snowmobiling. It also has restaurants, saunas, and spas.

Visitors can enjoy the Silichi Ski Resort all year round, with activities such as carting, badminton, tennis, basketball, volleyball, bicycles, rollers, mini soccer, quads, paintball, and fishing.

Logoisk Ski Sports and Fitness Complex: is a year-round mountain ski and recreation complex located just 30 km away from Minsk. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy a variety of activities, including five slopes with a total length of 3,679m and an elevation difference of 82m. There is also a four-seat cable tramway and a T-bar lift.

The complex also offers facilities for snow tubing and roller skiing. Equipment rentals are also available on-site.

Solnechnaya Dolina Training Center: is located within the city limits of Minsk, on the bank of a water reservoir. During winter, visitors can enjoy alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, tubing, and skating. In the summer, activities include boating, catamaran riding, cycling, quad bike riding, and roller skating. The center offers a main slope and training slope for skiing and snowboarding, T-bar lifts, a snow park, snow-tubing, ski tracks, a snowboard park with an interactive simulator, and a restaurant and cafe.

Yakutskiye Gory Ski Center: is located 37km from Minsk in the village of Yakuty and next to Belarus’ highest point, Dzyarzhynskaya Hara (345m – 1,132 ft). The ski center offers a 480m ski track with a 60m elevation difference, t-bar lifts, equipment rentals, skiing and snowboarding lessons, snow-tubing, and four-wheeler and snowmobile tracks for leasing.

Ruba: located in the village of Ruba just 15km from Vitebsk, is easily accessible from the central station by city bus. The resort offers four ski slopes ranging from 180 to 300 meters with a height difference of 35-45 meters, serviced by two rope tows.

Ski Complex in Mazyr: located in the Gomel region, offers visitors activities including the “Toboggan Alpine-Coaster”, as well as ski slopes and a skating rink.
